moon

the moon shimmers everywhere

she bangs pans together & rattles windows

she counts the ten thousand things

she stares back from everywhere

revealing the invisible sun

her song is shrill & sparkling

shivering with joy

lighting up the dark shoulders of the night

where the wizened tricksters gather

raising a cacophony of dreams & nightmares

for the day to draw upon

the moon shimmers everywhere

dancing and wailng until dawn
