The Shadow of God

1st voice:

Does God have a shadow?
And if he did, what color would it be?
Would it be transparent like the wind?
And if it was, aire in flight,
would it be a shadow?
Would it be sky blue like the waters
under a morning sky
in Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter?

Does God have a shadow?
And if he did, would it be opaque?
Black? Eternal like the bottom of the sea?
that underworld where species
unknown by the sun swim
relegated to produce their own light
like monstrous angels
fallen submerged feared
lost in the shadow of God--

2nd voice:

But what is this of shadow? of loss?
If everthing is light
even in its inverse expression.
The mystery at its deepest
depth
of translucent skin
spine aflame
invisible eyes
yes, at its deepest
most terrible beauty
closest to the source
there it is in its most fearsome dimension.
